Originally hailing from L.A., I'm currently living in Seattle with my kitties Jasmine & Xena. 😻 I'm a design systems nerd, community builder & coffee geek, experienced in building & scaling Design Systems across startups, agencies and mid-enterprise level companies.
Fueled by the "Three C's" (coffee, curiosity & creativity, ☕️ 🧐 🎨), I am obsessed with crafting simple, scalable solutions to complex problems.
My love for creating and systemizing initially led to careers within the performing arts & coffee industries, where I was able to combine my passion for crafting meaningful user experiences with my love for "systemizing" everything and serving people in those creative spaces. This eventually sparked the journey to transition my career into UX, and then into design systems. As a designer, my background in business & team management, customer service, leadership & the arts constantly influences my approach to crafting people-first solutions that balance the needs and goals of both business & user.
In my off hours, I enjoy giving back to the design community - I serve as the Seattle, USA chapter lead for Into Design Systems meetup events, provide design mentorship to students through the iMentorship Program at University of Washington's Information School, and frequently participate in speaking engagements for community events, design challenges, hackathons & podcasts.

- I was a music major in college (flute performance & composition) 🎵
- I'm a multi-time latte art champion, judge & coffee educator. Now I just nerd out at home and make pretty craft coffee on my pink Rancilio Silvia Pro X machine. ☕️
- I'm a cat mama to two sweet & spunky bengal kitties - Jasmine & Xena. Yes, they have their own Instagram accounts. 🐆 🐾
- I love to rollerskate (I'm old school with the quads). 🛼
- I'm a big sci-fi & fantasy nerd - Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, etc...
- I'm obsessed with all things pink (you probably already guessed that from this site!) 💗

My Design Process:
Empathy first! For me, communication is the key, and collaboration is everything! I am a big advocate for close engineering + design collaboration, and love to involve engineers in my design and ops processes.
Every company works differently, so having a healthy degree of flexibility is essential. My process is highly collaborative, and always follows a similar sequence of defining the need, researching it, building, testing, documenting, reflecting, and of course - education and distribution.
